The earth beneath the swaying ancient trees is a haven for rare plants and animals, making this an important place for the natural environment.
It is your job to manage this fragile and fascinating ecosystem and the creatures that have adapted to it.
Cleverly connect waterways and place plants to keep your moor alive.
Create diverse habitats for different animal species and aim to build the best ecosystem.

In “Moorland,” players use moor and plant cards to create a rich moor ecosystem.
The game is played over 12 rounds, with each round consisting of three phases: “Reveal Phase,” “Action Phase,” and “Cleanup Phase.”
During the “Reveal Phase,” players reveal the moor cards and plants they can acquire during that round.
During the “Action Phase,” players take turns performing three actions.
First, you secure a marsh card that depicts the plants, animals, and waterways that make up your marsh.
Next, place a plant marker in the marsh.
Finally, you can play a marsh card in your marsh, but the plant depicted on the card must match the plant marker you’ve placed in the marsh.
When you place a marsh card, the plants will take root, wither, or drift down the waterways, becoming the foundation for the next marsh card, forming a lush marsh.
During the “clean-up phase,” any marsh cards that no one has taken are discarded, and you move on to the next round.
At the end of 12 rounds, the player with the most points in total across seven categories, including plant and animal diversity, is the winner.
“Moorlands” is a natural environment-themed board game that involves card placement and set collection, where players use cards to draw waterways in the marsh, building a diverse ecosystem, and creating chains of connections.
